A story about dog shit

I will never voluntarily own a dog. Dogs are so terrible. Their poop is like human poop. When they shit in the floor, it's like a human shit in the floor. Horrible. I have never made this distinction before, but I'm making it now. Cats are so much better to have as pets.
Let me tell you this mega dumb thing that happened today. I am dogsitting for my cousins this week and they have these 2 dachshunds and they don't know how/don't like to poop outside. So they always shit when I bring them inside. They usually shit in the dining room or near the bathroom in the shadows, which always made me think that they know what they're doing. Now I know that they know. I was sitting down on the couch eating my supper and one of the dogs took a shit right directly behind me in a totally abnormal place than they normally shit. Then I couldn't finish my supper. It was a shame.

Happy Birthday

I love you like biscuits and gravy, hot ham and cheese sandwiches, and waffles and bacon

I haven't mentioned my grandfather's battles at all. Partly because I don't want to remember exact details; I'd rather have a hazy remembrance of the whole thing. But also because things changed incredibly fast over the past 4 months.
Now he has passed away and I'll never forget it anyway so I might as well write about it.

This was after a long stint in the hospital. Long enough that he had grown a beard. I think this was the last time that he felt okay. I know this was definitely the last time that he looked okay.

What's so messed up is that I forget that he's gone. Sometimes I'll be sitting in his chair and I'll hear a door slam or the phone will ring and my heart will race because it might be someone telling us that he's died, but then I have to remind myself that it's already happened.

I've found so far that mornings are the hardest because the empty moments in the shower are filled up with thoughts of him.

I mean, yeah he was an older man. I just figured I'd have 20 more years with him.

I'm turning into one of those weirdos that won't watch the end of something because I don't want it to end. I still need to watch the end of the past season of the Walking Dead, the third episode of Sherlock, the last season of Misfits, the last season of HIMYM, etc.
I'm going to watch them eventually, but man, what a trend.

My cousins and I are watching all 3 seasons of Veronica Mars and I am again realizing what a fantastic show it is. So much good.

prediction

Okay so Mindy and Danny started macking on an airplane in the last episode. Steamy. But I have this prediction about next season. I think the airplane will crash land and Mindy and Danny will both hit their heads and they will forget that they started to have a thing and they'll have to learn all over again.

I snapchatted this to Smells without a caption and I immediately regretted it because without explanation it just looks like I'm a shitty drawer.

I am, but for this particular drawing I was kind of shitty on purpose because that was the assignment. We had to do blind contours, which is where you draw the outlines of a thing without looking at your paper while you're drawing. It's some kind of animal skull.

• I've read 1 book. (The Art of Falling by Jenny Kaczorowski ) 
• 2 of my great aunts have acquired facebook and they are facebookin' fiends.
• I have been listening to podcasts in my car instead of music, partly because I'm bored with alt nation's music selection at the moment and partly because I'm hoping that through osmosis, the podcasts will make me better at conversations.
• My Mad Fat Diary trailer
• I ordered 2 different school books from 2 different websites and they both got refunded within a few hours because they were out of stock, which I think is a conspiracy.

  I doodled this horrible rendition of a bottle and a chair while in art history. I am taking a drawing class this semester and I generally dread drawing, but I'm trying to keep an open mind about it and I'm trying not to avoid drawing, which is what I generally do when I don't like something. I think I mostly don't like to draw because I'm so piss poor at it and "they" say that if you put in 10,000 hours of something then you can call yourself a master. So I'll try that, I guess. 
• I received a flu shot at the request of my dear sweet nurse of a mom. I am not at the 2 week point yet so who knows if I'm flu-y.
• By accident, I discovered that 4 episodes of Friends come on every night on nick at nite at the same time every day & I am so incredibly happy that it does that I even sit through the commercials to watch it. I rediscovered my love of Friends this year.

christmas lights

This house had the best lights. This picture doesn't do it justice at all, but google did add the sparkles when it uploaded to google+ so that's kinda neat. My aunt, 2 cousins and I were driving around earlier when my aunt gasped and scared us all to death and asked if we could drive up to see these lights. This house was decked out. There was even a projection of santa in the window. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed seeing lit up houses like that. I don't care what my cousins say, the "classy" houses with only white lights are boring and lame. Griswold lights are the only way that's good and right.
