14. Describe 5 strengths you have.

  • I can pretend to be brave when it's really important.
  • I'm not a particularly judgmental person.
  • My demeanor tends to be an open one and that can make me seem approachable.
  • I am hopeful like a baby. (I couldn't think of a great simile for this.)
  • My advice is so sage. It's probably the sagest advice of all time.

13. Describe 5 weaknesses you have.

I'm thinking that since this isn't an interview where I have to disguise my weaknesses as strengths,  I can just say 5 cute things that I have an affinity for because that's what a weakness in the real world is, right? I don't have to describe how horrible my character actually is because this is my blog and I can do what I want.
  1. Fruit flavored soda
  2. < $5 sunglasses (Oh YEAH wink)
  3. Polite men
  4. Books
  5. Diy projects

12. Describe a typical day in your current life.

This post could also be titled, "I stayed up until 5am watching youtube videos again."
I wish this were an isolated incident, but I can't truthfully say that it is. For some reason when I get on a playlist of videos that I like and want to watch I can't tear myself away and I can't force myself to sleep. I guess I'm being dramatic. I could actually make myself stop. I just don't.
So this is probably a very typical day.
I always check my phone first thing in the morning. First thing I do when I open my eyes. Sometimes I think I check it in my sleep because the other day I could have sworn that I responded to a tweet one morning and then when I tried to find it later in the day to make sure of no spelling errors, I couldn't find the blasted tweet anywhere. I have to think my brain made it up.
Okay so then I scramble up a clean outfit to wear when I get out of the shower and I take that set into the bathroom with me because I do not walk around naked in my grandparents' house even if the bathroom is three steps from my room. Shower commences. I find that taking a shower in the morning balances my life and brings me peace throughout the onslaught of the day. I fear I will never be a nighttime shower-er.
Next I brush teeth, slather deodorant, don shoes, grab keys, say goodbye, exit house, enter vehicle.
After I've sufficiently piloted my car for approx. 23-26 minutes depending on traffic, I locate and obtain a parking spot labeled silver and I take an elevator ride to the second story of campus where my office building is and I sit. Depending on the needs for the day, sometimes I sit in different parts of the building. Invariably, someone will ask me if I'm taking a summer class. I don't know the right answer to this question because either way I answer, I get the same response, "Oh, cool" which makes me think that it sucks that the only thing people can think to talk to me about is summer classes and damn that's boring. I must be really vile and terrible and boring. Anyway, sometimes when I'm at work I have to stand. That's very rare. I worry about deep vein thrombosis occasionally. Not enough, but some.
Then when the day is done, I return to la casa and I sometimes have to whip up dinner and sometimes not. Sometimes there's a show that's been recorded that needs watching and sometimes not. At some point every night, I retreat to the solace of my bedroom and I watch videos. Sometimes youtube, sometimes not.
Then sometimes I sleep.

That would be an extraordinarily typical day.

11. Describe 10 pet peeves you have.

  1. when a blog has a music player that automatically begins when you visit the page and then you have to sort through all your tabs to figure out which one is playing the dumb music
  2. saying "I'm bored"
  3. not using a blinker to turn
  4. scrolling through facebook/twitter/instagram on your phone while we're hanging out. I don't care if you answer a text or look at notifications when you get them, that's fine, but if you're just mindlessly scrolling... come on
  5. when the only thing you can do about something is complain, then maybe you shouldn't open your mouth
  6. littering
  7. not getting into the left turn lane until just right before you're going to turn left. GET IN THE TURN LANE ALREADY!
  8. "I could care less" is probably not what you think it means
  9. when someone obviously needs to blow their nose, but they haven't done it in a reasonable amount of time
  10. leaving the lights on in an empty room that you aren't in

Yes, some of these are irrational. Even dumb, some might say. Unfortunately, this is not all of them that I have. This is a very hostile post and I'm sorry. Sometimes little annoyances make me the craziest.

10. Describe your most embarrassing moment.

Let me be frank. I intentionally forget embarrassing moments. I do not dwell on them. If I did, I would cringe myself to sleep every night. I have, like, a real life super power where I can push the memories down real deep and if anything ever reminds me of a time when I was embarrassed, I can immediately replace that thought with something awesome that I did that I'm really proud of.
What can I say? It's a talent.

9. List 10 people who have influenced you and describe how.

I just want it known that it has taken me a    v  e  r  y    long time to finish this. Thinking about influences is weird.

10. Mr. Stiefel- Because of things I learned in his biology class, I actively think about adopting a child from another country besides the US.
9. Andrew- He was a huge influence on my quitting the job I had at the theatre. Some may say he was a bad influence. That's not for me to say. (I'm still bitter about him leaving me.)
8. CTR- He was the first boy I ever kissed so, needless to say, he impacted my life. He still does.
7. The Vlogbrothers- I highly respect these two men, and I genuinely look forward to their work as much as I do any movie or television star. I usually let their opinions sway my own and I don't feel guilty about it in the least.
6. MS- She & I are almost exactly opposite. I love that because it helps me remember that not everybody sees things the way I do. She is a great advice giver, too. I wish we hadn't drifted apart.
5. Mitsy- I think I became the person I am today because I met her. She really brought me out of my shell. I wish I wasn't such a loser and I called her more.
4. Dr. G- He has made me re-think lottery tickets, realize that Fargo is a weird movie, & that I suck at programming.
3. Rosh- She has always been kind of like my conscience. Always the mother hen. But also, she's the reason I started this blog. Talk about some major influence.
2. MJ- I have looked up to her ever since I can remember. I don't always intentionally follow in her footsteps, but I highly respect her opinion.
1. Mama- She is the reason I am so awesome. She really is. All of the things I like, it's because she liked them first. They say that mimicry is the highest form of flattery.

7. What is your dream job, and why?

To work in a library. A really big public one that gets a lot of patrons. I would design the newletters and pamphlets and I would work solely in the YA section.  Also, every other tuesday I would host a little kids (5 & under) cupcake decorating class because that's what libraries need. More cupcakes. And I would do really awesome youtube videos to promote the library & then they would pay me to go to vidcon! For research!

6. What is the hardest thing you have ever experienced?

Truth be told, I don't know the hardest thing I've ever experienced. I have always been really great at blocking out terrible experiences. Maybe I just haven't experienced anything that was very hard at all & the hardest thing I've ever experienced was something really insignificant.
Nobody can really know.

4. List 10 things you would tell your 16 year-old self, if you could.

  1. Do NOT make out with anybody you work with. Don't.
  2. Do NOT make out with anybody that doesn't want to date you. In the same vein, don't make out with anybody that you don't want to date.
  3. Do your homework. It's horrible & stupid, but it will make you a better, more responsible person.
  4. Spend as much time with Caleb & Roshni & Melana as humanly possible. They are true friends. Do not take them for granted.
  5. Go to Gadsden State. You know you want to so just do it. Don't bother with Calhoun.
  6. Save 10% of every freaking paycheck. You will not regret it.
  7. Discover the band Walk The Moon & go to a bunch of their shows.
  8. Here's a joke: What's the temperature of a Tauntaun? Luke warm
  9. Here's another joke: What's brown & rhymes with Snoop? Dr. Dre
  10. Just be a better person, basically.

3. Describe your relationship with your parents.

It could be worse, I guess.

2. Describe 3 legitimate fears you have and explain how they became fears.

1. Dying - That's an obvious one. It's a common fear that plenty of people have. Sometimes I can forget that I'm going to die, but then sometimes it really freaks me out. I'm scared of dying in my sleep more that I am about dying accidentally in an accident. Which makes sleeping really scary, & it's sad because I love sleeping.
2. Infertility - I frequently forget to take my birth control at the same time every day & I'm pretty sure that only matters if you're having sex (& I'm not) BUT STILL, I have this fear that my misuse of those pills are making me sterile. I'm also just scared that it has nothing to do with birth control pills & I just won't be able to have kids. I'm not even sure if I want to have kids (You know the old saying "the dumb ones procreate because the smart ones know better" I just haven't figured out which kind of person I am yet), but I want to have the ability to have them. Totally irrational because I could have adopted children. But still.
3. Abusive relationship - I'm scared that I will marry a horrible person. I'm scared that I won't be able to see how terrible he is because I'll be so delusional with love. I'm scared that I'll marry a man like my father. I'm scared I'll never find a man who respects me. I'm scared that I'll never find a man.

Best wishes,
Annabelle
